52 Layouts Step-by-Step #11 'Sun Kissed'

Friday 17 August 2012

Morning Lovlies

It's time for another installment of 52 Layouts Step-by-Step but firstly huge apologies for those who have entered recently and not received comments from me - I'm still very behind after my holiday and just don't seem to be able to get ahead at the moment and I just haven't got around to commenting for the last couple of weeks. I promise that will all change next week - I've got some spare time and am planning a major catch up week!

The supplies you'll need for this week's layout are:
3 sheets of patterned paper
a 5x7 landscape photo
Alpha stickers
ricrac or ribbon
washi tape
some chipboard butterflies (or equivalent) There's loads in the photo above but I've only used a few.
4 x circular embellishments - mine are sun shapes with lines in the middle for journalling. Circles would do and could easily be punched
2 x manilla tags
a couple of scraps of other patterned papers

Step 1:
Choose your background. I've gone for a sheet of patterned paper that has a very small pattern all over it.

Step 2:
Cut a different patterned paper to 7.5 x 8.5", ink the edges and stick to the top left corner of your layout,

Step 3:
Cut another patterned paper to 6x9", ink the edges and stick to the layout as shown below.

Step 4:
Add a 5x7 landscape photo to the layout but do not stick the top edge - this is going to form a pocket.

Step 5:
Cut one of your small scraps of patterned paper to  2.5x3", ink the edges and stick over the bottom left corner of you photo.

Step 6:
Add three strips of washi tape - one long one under your photo and two other smaller ones. Also stick a long piece of ricrac over the long piece of washi tape at the bottom.

Step 7:
Take your manila tags and cover one of them in another scrap of patterned paper. Do the same with the other if you like but I only did one. Ink the edges, add an eyelet if required and the remaining ricrac through the holes. Slot these behind your photo.

Step 8:
Add your 4 circle embellishments. Mine are sunshine shaped and have lines in the middle for journalling. Also add your chipboard butterflies (or equivalent) in the same places.

Step 9:
Add a title - it's going to sit on your ricrac.

Step 10:
Write in your journalling. There is also space for journalling on the plain tag and on the back of the covered one so lots of room for your story here.

And now you're done - here's my finished layout.  If you want to join in this week then just link your layouts below. I promise to leave you some love this week!

The supplies you'll need to join in next week are:
3 x patterned papers
1 sheet of cardstock
A smallish piece of another colour of cardstock
2 6x4 landscape photos - capable of bring trimmed
Washi tape
Decorated tag (mine is pre made but you can always decorate it yourself!)
Some stamps for creating embellishments plus ink pads (obvious but not pictured!)

See you need week!
