Life begins at 40!

Morning all!  We have another fab sketch for you this week over at Sketch Saturday:
My husband asked me to make a birthday card for a work colleague: my brief was that it was his 40th birthday and he likes football and golf. Not a huge amount to go on so here is what I came up with:
I printed the sentiment on my pc and used bakers twine and washi tape to embellish the card. I made the three little golf balls by embossing white cardstock with swiss dots and colouring them with a grey copic. The image is by Stitchy Bears.

This weeks Sketch Saturday challenge is sponsored by Bunny Zoe's Crafts and they are offering a fab prize to this week's winner so head on over to join in to be in with a chance of winning!

Kit Release: May Week 3 'Indigo Inspiration'

This week's kit features some of the awesome papers in the American Crafts Amy Tangerine range 'Sketchbook'. I love this collection, the papers are so bright and fun:
The kit contains:
3 x Sketchbook patterned papers
2 x coordinating cardstock
1 x Sketchbook layered tag (designs may vary)

I decided I wanted to use the indigo frame as my background but sometimes I find it a challenge to work within a frame as it reduces my scrapping space substantially - especially this frame as it is quite wide, so I chopped it up, swapped it around a bit and stuck it on the green cardstock just to be a bit different and came up with quite an interesting layout:

My second layout was more difficult as I'd used most of the papers in the first layout but I noticed how I had the same pattern on two different papers, just in different colours so I tried to give my layout the effect that the background had changed colours across the middle - I think it's quite cool! Other than that I just added a few more bits of leftover papers and a title using alphabet stickers from my stash.

Here is Kirei's layout. She's used the grid paper as her background which I actually didn't use at all and added alphabet stickers from her stash. Check out her blog for more details on how she made it.

This week's kit can be purchased HERE and costs just £5.15.
Happy scrapping!

Happy 4th Birthday to Toby!

Happy Saturday peeps!
Time for another amazing sketch over at Sketch Saturday this week:
and I've made a card for little Toby who is now 4 - what a big boy! I went for fairly bright colours and a cute teddy stamp by Lili of the Valley. He probably would have preferred a car but hey ho!

This weeks challenge is sponsored by Simon Says Stamp who have got a great prize on offer so make sure you pop over to Sketch Saturday to join in!

Happy scrapping!

Kit Release: May Week 2 'Collage'

This week's kit is called 'Collage' and features papers from three different collections that just happen to go beautifully with each other:
The kit cotains:
1 x Prima Songbird paper
1 x Prima Rondelle paper
1 x Glitz French Kiss paper
2 x coordinating card
Prima textured alphabet stickers.

My first layout uses the Prima Rondelle paper for the background. It is such a pretty paper that it didn't require too much else in the way of embellishment or layers so I simply stacked my photo on a few different papers, added a title and was happy with the result.

My second layout uses the Prima Songbird paper as the background which is made up of all different paper effects which reminded me of school and therefore another Harry Potter layout was born! What with the three photos and the interesting background paper, this layout also didn't require much else! So two simple layouts this week.

Kirei has also used the Prima Songbird paper as her background which goes beautifully with her photos. Check out her blog for more details on how she made it.

This week's kit costs just £5.30 and can be purchased HERE.

Happy scrapping!

April Documented!

April was quite a busy month for me - baby Max arrived at the beginning followed by two weeks of visitors, then a wedding and weekend away at the end, phew, I'm glad it's over!

This month's kit is really pretty: lots of turquoise and yellow.  Here is the introduction layout (one 6x4 landscape photo that has been trimmed slightly):

The divided pockets this month consist of four 6x4 pockets and one 6x8 pocket. Here is my first one:
and a close up of a couple of the pockets:

and the reverse:

and a close up of a couple of the pockets:

and this month's Focus layout - of course I had to focus on baby Max! I've used two 4x4 photos.

Here are a couple of examples of the numbers we're using this month. Some have flowers and some have buttons.:

See those who are coming this month on Saturday about 9:45am and don't forget to bring lunch!

In the meantime, happy scrapping!

Congratulations to Mike & Claire!

Morning all!
This week it is Susie's DT week over at Sketch Saturday which means she has designed the sketch and organised a sponsor for the challenge. Here is her awesome sketch:
and here is the card I came up with:

The image is called 'Just Married' which is by Milk Coffee and was perfect for my cousin's wedding. I used My Mind's Eye papers and journaling cards for the background and sentiments and added some of those lust ribbon roses to jazz it up a bit.

This week's Sketch Saturday challenge is sponsored by Milk Coffee who do really cute digi stamps. They are offering a great prize so make sure you head on over to the blog and join in to be in with a chance of winning!

Right, off to finish organising a birthday party for my 2 year old - a house full of toddlers, I can't wait!

Kit Release: May Week 1 'Dots Everywhere'

Another Wednesday means another kit release and this week's one is called 'Dots Everywhere' and features some of the 'Hello Summer' range by Echo Park which is lovely and bright:

The kit contains:
3 x Hello Summer patterned papers
2 x coordinating cardstock
Hello Summer alphabet sticker sheet

I love the bright colours in this paper range, they are perfect for summer outdoors photos but also for photos with lots of colours in them. These are of my little one with her friend and about a million brightly coloured toys! I love that the alphabet sheet comes with loads of other little element stickers which I put to good use:

My second layout put some of the borders to good use as well as more of those stickers:

Here is Kirei's layout - check out her blog for more details on how she made it.

This week's kit costs £6.90 and can be purchased HERE and there's details about subscribing monthly there too.
